Description
Royal Canin Hepatic Dog Dry Food 1.5kg
Royal Canin Veterinary Diet – Hepatic HF 16 provides nutritional support specifically for dogs suffering from liver disease and insufficiency.
Liver disease can lead to metabolism problems and the way the body stores and breaks down nutrients and toxins.
It is important to ensure that
- Your pet has the correct diet (high energy content, optimal intake of proteins, minerals and vitamins)
- Liver cell production is regulated (L-carnitin, highly digestible protein)
- Liver dysfunction is minimised (optimal, easy to digest vegetable protein content, correct pH levels in the intestines, low sodium)
RECOMMENDED FOR:
• Chronic hepatitis*
• Portosystemic shunt
• Hepatic encephalopathy
• Copper storage disease
* in case of acute hepatitis, the recommended product are Recovery or Convalescence Support Instant.
NOT RECOMMENDED IN CASE OF: • Pancreatitis • Growth, gestation/lactation
Key benefits:
- Vegetable protein: Digestible, high quality protein from vegetables is easier to assimilate and better tolerated by dogs with liver encephalosis.
- Low copper: Reduced levels of copper combined with high levels of zinc prohibit copper accumulation in liver cells and help to prevent liver cell degeneration.
- Antioxidant complex: A patented synergistic complex of antioxidants (vitamin E, vitamin C, taurine, lutein) can help to neutralise free radicals
- High energy: Energy from fat and a reduced level of protein helps to reduce protein degradation, minimising the risk of progressive hepatic encephalopathy.
Changing your pet’s diet and length of treatment:
The length of treatment will depend on the severity of your pet’s symptoms and how well the liver regenerates itself. If your pet suffers from chronic liver disease it may be necessary to feed your dog Royal Canin Veterinary Diet – Hepatic HF 16 for the rest of its life. In order to reduce hepatic stress after meals it is advisable to split the daily portion into several smaller meals
Further information:
